Vincennes Lincoln hasn't had much luck against Pike Central recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Grace Archer was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Addy Alton was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Vincennes Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Pike Central's offense. They came up short against Southridge on Thursday, falling 7-0. The Chargers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
Pike Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Myra Hensler, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
The victory got Vincennes Lincoln back to even at 7-7. As for Pike Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Pike Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Vincennes Lincoln has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. It's a different story for Pike Central, though, as they've only averaged .345. Will they be able to contain Vincennes Lincoln's hitters?
Vincennes Lincoln suffered a grim 19-9 defeat to Pike Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Can the Alices avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
