The Classical Academy Caimans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 76-28 loss at the hands of Del Lago Academy. Classical Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-14.
When it comes to explaining why Classical Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Issac Davis. Despite the final result, he scored 10 points. Davis scored a full 35.7% of Classical Academy's points, the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Del Lago Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Classical Academy will square off against Coastal Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Coastal Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Classical Academy in California (Coastal Academy is ranked 317th, while Classical Academy is ranked 1149th). Del Lago Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rock Academy at 6:30 p.m. on December 7th. Hopefully Rock Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday.
