The Meadow Bridge Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 59-25 blowout they got at home against Greater Beckley Christian. That 59-25 margin sets a new team best for Meadow Bridge this season.
Meadow Bridge found their leader in underclassman Lily Hayes, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. Charity Reichard was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Greater Beckley Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emerson Young, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Leah Adkins, who scored nine points.
Meadow Bridge now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Greater Beckley Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meadow Bridge will take on Paden City at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Paden City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday. As for Greater Beckley Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Life Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
