The North Valley Knights will head out on the road to take on the Sutherlin Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. in Tuesday's first game. North Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Thursday, North Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Rogue River, taking the game 8-4. The victory was just what North Valley needed coming off of an 11-2 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Sutherlin was not able to break out of their rough patch in Thursday's second game as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 23-13 walloping at the hands of Brookings-Harbor.
Josie Vermillion made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-3 with a home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Nattalya Theall, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
North Valley's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Sutherlin, they have fallen quite a ways from their 15-5 record last season and are now at 2-7.
North Valley suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Sutherlin when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can North Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
