The Grace Christian Warriors will take on the Avoyelles Charter Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Grace Christian's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Glenmora as Grace Christian made off with an 8-0 victory. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Not much got past Rylee Guillot, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Glenmora off the board. That's the fewest hits Guillot has allowed since March 1st.
At the plate, Bella Acree was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sydney Avery, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.
Acree wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Grace Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Avoyelles Charter made easy work of Peabody on Wednesday and carried off a 15-0 victory.
Janiya Heath made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Heath was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Avoyelles Charter got a massive performance out of Lily Rousseau, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Rousseau has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Madalyn Guillory was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Grace Christian's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Avoyelles Charter, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
Grace Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Avoyelles Charter in their previous meeting on March 10th, winning 7-2. Does Grace Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Avoyelles Charter turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
