The Westhill Warriors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with an 84-77 victory over Chittenango. The win was familiar territory for Westhill who now have five in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Chittenango lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ryan Moesch. Despite the final result, he scored 46 points. That was a full 59.7% of Chittenango's points, marking the 14th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendon Barnard, who scored 12 points.
Westhill's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.3 points per game. As for Chittenango, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westhill will square off against Mexico at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mexico has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 186 points over their last three games. Chittenango's road trip will continue as they head out to face Homer at 6:45 p.m. on January 18th. Homer will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 387th, while Chittenango is ranked 124th).
