3A Region IV District 27 recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 3A Region IV District 27 this week, Fredericksburg beat Wimberley 36-21. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Navarro took down Bandera 42-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ty Durham ran for 142 yards during the win.
Kyle Grona threw for 363 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was 19-34 with 0 interceptions.
Durham was the best running back in the league this week. In 11 carries, he ran for 142 yards as the Panthers bested the Texans. Teammate Luke Jarosewski added to the ground attack by rushing for 125 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Grona of Lance Moffett's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,672. He has also thrown 15 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Hunter Lees. The Boerne star has 47 catches for 729 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Navarro takes on Canyon Lake. Les Goad's team is in first place, while Canyon Lake is in fourth place.
The BULLDOGS made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,033 from 7,084. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 42-21 victory over Bandera last week.
