Nichols had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by  an  11-0 margin over the St. Francis Red Raiders.  Ross Yoshida made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Dominic Bernardone was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with three  stolen bases and three  runs. Those  three  runs gave  him a new career-high.  Kasey Kohler was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with four  RBI and one  stolen base.
 Nichols  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .613. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Nichols pushed their record up to 6-2 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for St. Francis,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 0-7-1.
 Coming up, Nichols will be playing in front of their home fans against Canisius  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Vikings are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on  a  three-game losing streak. As for St. Francis, they have already played their next matchup,  a  2-1  victory against Clarence on the 26th.
