Ocean View is 3-0 against Bolsa Grande since September of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Ocean View Seahawks have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the Bolsa Grande Matadors at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Ocean View put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 35-14 margin over Godinez Fundamental. The win was just what Ocean View needed coming off of a 28-0 defeat in their prior match.
Ocean View got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was William Pardue IV out in front who rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Pardue IV was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Trujillo, who rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Bolsa Grande was able to grind out a solid win over La Quinta on Friday, taking the game 42-35. The victory was just what Bolsa Grande needed coming off of a 46-14 loss in their prior game.
Ethan d Nguyen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 305 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 108 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Marc Navarro, who picked up 175 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Ocean View to 5-5 and Bolsa Grande to 6-4.
Everything came up roses for Ocean View against Bolsa Grande in their previous meeting back in September as the squad secured a 34-7 win. Will Ocean View repeat their success, or does Bolsa Grande have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
