The Edgewood Warriors will challenge the Jefferson Area Falcons at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Edgewood is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They lost 26-16 to Pymatuning Valley. Even though they lost, the Warriors' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.3 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

D' Angelo Sanchez put in work no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Sanchez was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Edgewood is 2-1 when Sanchez posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Edgewood got a massive performance out of Elliot Tobie, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Christian Braat, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Jefferson Area got the win against Edgewood on Thursday by a conclusive 12-1. Considering the Falcons have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Tate Hudson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Salinas, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI.
Jefferson Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edgewood only posted an OBP of .200.
Edgewood's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Jefferson Area, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Edgewood's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's match. The Warriors have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Jefferson Area, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Edgewood continue to outrun the ball?
