The Ste. Genevieve Dragons were the 56-37 winner over the Valle Catholic Warriors when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Ste. Genevieve fell just short of Valle Catholic by a score of 38-35.
When it comes to explaining why Ste. Genevieve lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Bri Abt. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. Lexi Warren was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Ste. Genevieve's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Valle Catholic, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ste. Genevieve will face off against Seckman at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Valle Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Festus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
