The Martin Clippers will head out on the road to take on the Athens Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 18 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Martin and 20 for Athens dating back to last season.
On Friday, Martin was beaten by Saugatuck 62-35. While losing is never fun, Martin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 730th, while Saugatuck is ranked 350th).
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Athens, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-32 loss to Heritage Christian Academy on Friday.
Nick Clemens was Athens' leading scorer, having posted seven points. Clemens also led the team in rebounds with nine.
Kale Kiefer took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Martin's loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.8 points per game. As for Athens, their loss dropped their record down to 0-18.
