Even though the Woodson Cavaliers scored an imposing 55 points on Saturday, the Potomac Senior Panthers still came out on top. Potomac Senior walked away with a 62-55 victory over Woodson. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Potomac Senior.
Potomac Senior was led to victory by TJ Bethea and Kenny DeGuzman. Bethea scored 18 points, while DeGuzman scored 17 points. DeGuzman hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Zayvion Williams was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Woodson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bryce Donovan, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Donovan continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Limbago, who scored eight points along with three blocks.
Potomac Senior pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Woodson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Potomac Senior will take on Gar-Field at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gar-Field has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 297 points over their last five games. As for Woodson, they will be playing at home against South County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
