The Carroll Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 23 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 57-24 win over Rossville on the road. The win was familiar territory for Carroll who now have five in a row.
Carroll got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alli Harness out in front who scored 15 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. The match was Harness' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Madison Wagner was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Rossville saw an underclassman step up: Ava Burkle scored seven points along with nine rebounds. Burkle scored a full 29.2% of Rossville's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Addi Gorbett, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Rossville struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Carroll racked up 12 assists.
Carroll's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Rossville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.
Carroll will be home for the holidays to greet Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Northwestern will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 256th, while Carroll is ranked 62nd). As for Rossville, they will head out on the road to face off against North Montgomery at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Montgomery is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
