The Mt. Carmel Golden Aces had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They pulled ahead with a 47-46 photo finish over Marshall. That's another feather in the cap for Mt. Carmel, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Mt. Carmel's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Levi Beesley, who scored 13 points. Jack Webb was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Mt. Carmel's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Marshall, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Mt. Carmel will be playing at home against Lawrenceville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marshall, they will head out on the road to face off against Tolono Unity at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
