Central fell just short of Luverne by a score of 53-50. Central has struggled against Luverne recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Loss or not, Central got some senior leadership from Ja?mez Fitzpatrick and Jaderrick Robinson. Fitzpatrick scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Robinson. scored 12 points along with two steals and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fitzpatrick has scored all season. Iyanis Wallace was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Luverne, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-9.
Central will face off against Ellwood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ellwood Christian has now lost 19 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 9. As for Luverne, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Goshen at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Goshen is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
