Ritchie County has gone a perfect 4-0 against South Harrison recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Rebels will host the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Ritchie County will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Ritchie County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Braxton County a 26-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Rocklyn Marcum made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Those four hits gave Frymier a new career-high. Lillian Monn was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double.
Ritchie County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Harrison, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Robert C. Byrd 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hawks have posted since April 12th.
Ava Louk was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 17 batters over nine innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off one hit. Louk was also big at the plate, going 3-for-6 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Riley Myers was excellent, going 1-for-5 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Gabby Davis, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs.
Ritchie County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for South Harrison, they pushed their record up to 8-12 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Ritchie County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like South Harrison struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Ritchie County took their win against South Harrison when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
