The Douglas County Tigers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They strolled past Newnan with points to spare, taking the game 68-50. For Douglas County, this counts as revenge for the 59-56 defeat Newnan walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Kory Young jr. was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. Marquacious Wright was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Douglas County now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Newnan, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Douglas County will head out on the road to face off against St. Anne-Pacelli at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Anne-Pacelli presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Douglas County in Georgia (St. Anne-Pacelli is ranked 42nd, while Douglas County is ranked 173rd). Newnan will be home for the holidays to greet Alexander at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Alexander will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
