The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers managed to keep up with the GVCS Broadfording Lions until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Cumberland Valley Christian ended up on the wrong side of a rough 68-47 walloping at the hands of the Lions. Cumberland Valley Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2021.
GVCS Broadfording was led to victory by Jordan Shifler and Brandon Monroe. Shifler dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Monroe scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Monroe is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Camari White, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Cumberland Valley Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for GVCS Broadfording, their victory bumped their record up to 6-22.
Cumberland Valley Christian will take on the at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in their respective states (Calvary Christian Academy is ranked 261st in Maryland, while the Blazers are ranked 252nd in Pennsylvania). As for GVCS Broadfording, they will be playing at home against the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Southern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Saturday.
