Basketball Recap: Mya Aitchison's Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Charlotte over Greater Cabarrus S

South Charlotte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 29-26 heartbreaker at the hands of the Greater Cabarrus S Stallions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thunder of the 40-35 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March.

South Charlotte's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mya Aitchison, who posted four points along with 12 boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Aitchison a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Aitchison, who had nine points.

Greater Cabarrus S's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Miller, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Kennedy Stamper was another key player, putting up seven points along with 14 rebounds and five blocks.

South Charlotte's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Greater Cabarrus S, their record is now 4-7.

As for Greater Cabarrus S, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 32-26 defeat against Corvian Community on the 12th.
