Shenandoah is 0-4 against Pendleton Heights since May of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Raiders will look to defend their home field against the Arabians at 5:30 p.m. Shenandoah is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
On Saturday, Shenandoah was able to grind out a solid win over Indianapolis Kings, taking the game 6-2.
Maddux Davis looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, Arrin Murray was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Drew Fredenburg was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Pendleton Heights earned a 9-4 victory over Lebanon on Saturday.
Pendleton Heights let Ryland Montgomery and Brooks Bond run wild. Montgomery got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Bond got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Bond a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Elijah, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
Pendleton Heights' win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Shenandoah, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Shenandoah has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Pendleton Heights struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Shenandoah suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Pendleton Heights in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
