The Sacred Heart Knights put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 75-38 victory over St. John's/Tipton Catholic. Sacred Heart's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Jacob Winkler and Edward Horinek certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Winkler dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Horinek scored 16 points.
Sacred Heart pushed their record up to 8-0 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for St. John's/Tipton Catholic, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sacred Heart won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Thomas More Prep-Marian at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. Thomas More Prep-Marian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Sacred Heart is ranked 12th). St. John's/Tipton Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Rock Hills at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Rock Hills is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
