Bloomington is 1-7 against Weimar since December of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats will square off against the Weimar Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Even though Bloomington has not done well against Ganado recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Bloomington strolled past Ganado with points to spare, taking the game 38-23. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 22 to 14 on the offensive boards, as Bloomington did.
Bloomington's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Lizette Castillo, who scored four points along with 16 rebounds and two steals, and Khyli Proctor, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Proctor continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Weimar proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 36) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Ganado 36-34.
Bloomington is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season. As for Weimar, the win got them back to even at 14-14.
Bloomington strolled past Weimar in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 52-35. Does Bloomington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Weimar turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
