The Heidelberg Oilers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Collins Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Heidelberg didn't have too much trouble with Clarkdale at home as they won 26-7.
Heidelberg found their leader in underclassman Chase Craft, who rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 140 yards and a touchdown. Craft was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. Another player making a difference was Destin McCray, who gained 104 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Collins strolled past Richton with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-12.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Collins to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maurio Luvine, who picked up 70 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Donte Booth, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Heidelberg is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Collins, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Heidelberg couldn't quite finish off Collins in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 and fell 30-27. Will Heidelberg have more luck at home instead of on the road?
