The Viera Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the South Fork Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Viera was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to Cocoa.
Lauren Bell put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. She scored a full 46.8% of Viera's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Phantasia Lauriston was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Meanwhile, South Fork's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 53-12 defeat at the hands of Sebastian River. South Fork was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-3.
Their wins bumped Viera to 2-2 and Cocoa to 3-0.
Everything came up roses for Viera against South Fork in their previous matchup back in February as the squad secured a 56-19 victory. Does Viera have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Fork turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
