The Ruidoso Warriors''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Dexter 60-14. Ruidoso was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dexter apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, Ruidoso still got an impressive performance from Trenton Hall, who rushed for 19 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 51 receiving yards.
Julian Manzanares went supernova for Dexter, rushing for 182 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaesn George, who picked up 135 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Ruidoso to a paltry 66 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Dexter's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out 14 times before it was all said and done. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Ruidoso's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-2 New Mexico Military Institute and 8-2 Robertson (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 79.4% over those games). As for Dexter, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Ruidoso does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Dexter also has no future games currently scheduled.
