Reynolds is 0-3 against Saegertown since May of 2016 but things could change on Saturday. Reynolds is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Sharpsville, falling 12-0.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Saegertown made sure to put some runs up on the board against Rocky Grove on Thursday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Orioles. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Hailey Obenrader made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mackenzie Brauen and Natalie Halsey did most of the damage at the plate: Brauen went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Halsey got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Halsey a new career-high. Rylie Braymer was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Saegertown is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Reynolds, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
