The Granger Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 82-60 defeat at the hands of Jordan. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (59), Granger still had to take the loss.
Several Lancers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Daudi Aweyso, who scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds. Aweyso scored a full 31.7% of Granger's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Gukeisen, who scored 14 points.
Jordan had a senior duo take command as Trent Benson scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds and Ayden Doyle scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds. Matt Magness was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 5 assists.
Granger's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Jordan, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.
Granger will be playing in front of their home fans against Ben Lomond at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ben Lomond focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday. As for Jordan, they will head out on the road to face off against Timpanogos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Timpanogos' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
