Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Union Springs

Union Springs came out on top against Marathon on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Wolves took their game against the Olympians 10-5. The victory was just business as usual for the Wolves, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Charlie Parker was incredible, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Parker is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Alex Smith, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Union Springs' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Marathon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Union Springs will venture away from home to take on Moravia at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolves will need to watch out since the Blue Devils have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Marathon, they will face off against Southern Cayuga at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Chiefs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.75 runs per game on average), something the Olympians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
