De Kalb has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Redwater Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 72-36, which was the final score in De Kalb's tilt against the Hornets on Friday. While losing is never fun, De Kalb can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 901st, while the Hornets are ranked 166th).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 93-45, which was the final score in Redwater's tilt against the Hornets on Tuesday. Redwater was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-22.
Redwater's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tyris Crowell, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, and Marquez Jones who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals. Crowell is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last six games he's played.
De Kalb's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Redwater, their loss dropped their record down to 18-10.
De Kalb won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in January, slipping by the Dragons 45-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for De Kalb since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
