Despite the loss, Pecos still got an impressive performance from Jeremy Perello, who scored 27 points. Perello is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Dominic Armendariz, who scored eight points.
Greenwood was led to victory by Landen Stewart and Tatum Pierce. Stewart scored 32 points, while Pierce scored 43 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stewart has scored all season. Reagen Burchfield was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Pecos dropped their record down to 3-21 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Greenwood, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-11.
Pecos will look to defend their home court on Friday against Seminole at 7:30 p.m. Seminole presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pecos in Texas (Seminole is ranked 386th, while Pecos is ranked 1544th). As for Greenwood, they will head out on the road to challenge Fort Stockton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matches -- so hopefully Fort Stockton likes a good challenge.
