The Gurdon Go-Devils will venture away from home to  square off against the Prescott Curley Wolves  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Gurdon will be strutting in after a  victory while Prescott will be coming in after a  defeat.
On Monday, Gurdon had just enough and edged out Parkers Chapel  9-7.
 Sadie Griffin made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and six unearned) runs off   ten  hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest  earned runs  she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, two  RBI,  and one  double. She has been hot recently, having  posted three or more  hits the last three times she's  played.

 In other batting news,  Mikaela Bradshaw and  Mollie Cox did most of the damage at the plate:  Bradshaw  went 2-for-5 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Cox  went 4-for-5 with three  doubles and two  runs. The dominant performance gave  Cox a new career-high in  doubles.  BreAsia Moody also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
 Gurdon  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 15  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
 Meanwhile, Prescott fell victim to Smackover and their airtight pitching crew  on Monday. They lost  12-0 to the Buckaroos. The Curley Wolves' loss continues a  trend for the  squad, making it four in a row.
 Prescott's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Gurdon, they now  have a winning record of 4-3.
 Gurdon came out on top in a nail-biter against Prescott when the teams last played  back in February of 2024, sneaking past  10-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gurdon since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
