The Franklin County Tech Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Taconic Thunder at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin County Tech is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 11 games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Franklin County Tech gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 58-37 margin over Putnam Vo-Tech. Given Franklin County Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Putnam Vo-Tech is ranked 104th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hannah Gilbert and Lea Chapman were among the main playmakers for Franklin County Tech as the former dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds and the latter dropped a double-double on 25 points and 17 rebounds. Gilbert is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Goodell, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Taconic suffered a rough 50-28 loss at the hands of Hampshire Regional back in January.
Franklin County Tech pushed their record up to 15-2 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Taconic, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
