Baseball Recap: Atlantic Collegiate Academy Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

East Clarendon typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Atlantic Collegiate Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 10-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Armada, who have now won five contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Gavin Street tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Reed Gallup and Coleman Strickland did most of the damage at the plate: Gallup scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Strickland scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Gallup has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chase Foxworth, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Atlantic Collegiate Academy's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for East Clarendon, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atlantic Collegiate Academy will challenge Mullins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Clarendon, they will face off against West Florence at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
