After a string of three wins, the Hartfield Academy Hawks's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 60-40 walloping at the hands of Lewisburg.
Lewisburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Allison Irby, who scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds. Irby hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Carroll, who scored 14 points.
Hartfield Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Lewisburg, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hartfield Academy will square off against Leake Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Leake Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. Lewisburg's road trip will continue as they head out to face Independence at 6:00 p.m. on November 28th. Independence's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Lewisburg's offense will have their work cut out for Lewisburg.
