Basketball Game Preview: Coconut Creek Cougars vs. Coral Springs Charter Panthers

Coconut Creek hasn't had much luck against Coral Springs Charter recently, but that could start to change on Monday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Coconut Creek Cougars take on the Coral Springs Charter Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Coconut Creek will bounce into Monday's match after beating Monarch, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. Coconut Creek claimed a resounding 62-17 victory over Monarch. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.

Abigail Theophile continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Theophile is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Frantasia Jacques, who posted six points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.

Meanwhile, Coral Springs Charter waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Scots by a score of 43-36.

Coral Springs Charter is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Coconut Creek, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Coconut Creek was taken down by Coral Springs Charter 58-17 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Coconut Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
