The Hagerman Pirates suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Richfield at home and fell 46-15. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hagerman in their matchups with Richfield: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Hagerman saw an underclassman step up: Krickit Shirlen wise scored eight points along with two steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Shirlen wise posted two or more blocks.
Shelby Jones continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Richfield, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Clancy Patterson, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Hagerman has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Richfield, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.
Hagerman will head out on the road to face off against Twin Falls Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Twin Falls Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 23.5 points per game this season, so Hagerman's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Richfield, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Hagerman at 7:30 p.m.
