West is 0-10 against Lodi since May of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Wolfpack will face off against the Flames at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
West lost 10-2 to St. Mary's on Thursday.
Kayla McWhorter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered ten runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Jia Camacho made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Mya Camp also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Lodi couldn't beat Tracy on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Flames came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 12-4. The Flames haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Allison Frank was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Schallberger, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
West's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Lodi, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. West has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lodi struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
West might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Lodi in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Wolfpack avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
