The Clark Chargers will square off against the Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Clark has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Clark took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Cimarron-Memorial, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Chargers skirted past the Spartans 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chargers have posted since March 5th.

Sophia DeMonbrun made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Noel Gregorich was incredible, going 1-for-3 with six stolen bases and one run. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Allison Reed, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Mater Academy East Las Vegas got the win against Cheyenne on Monday by a conclusive 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 11 games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Like Clark, Mater Academy East Las Vegas also got a great game from a two-way player: Camryn Reyes. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). Reyes was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Mater Academy East Las Vegas got a massive performance out of Beyonce Felix, who went 1-for-3 with six stolen bases and two runs. Nataly Guevara Hernandez was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Clark has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
Clark couldn't quite finish off Mater Academy East Las Vegas in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
