Connelly School of the Holy Child are ranked highly in their home state, and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Sidwell Friends Quakers. Connelly School of the Holy Child was outmatched by the Quakers at home and fell 67-27. Connelly School of the Holy Child has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sidwell Friends found their leader in underclassman Jayla Jackson, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayda Dixon, who scored ten points along with seven assists and three steals.
Connelly School of the Holy Child has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Sidwell Friends, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing St. Andrew's Episcopal the next time they take the court. Sidwell Friends will head out to face St. Andrew's Episcopal at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, while Connelly School of the Holy Child will head out to face them at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
