Bradshaw Christian can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They breezed by Galt on the road to the tune of 70-14. With Bradshaw Christian ahead 63-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Bradshaw Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mateo Mojica led the charge by rushing for 174 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Mojica was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Rickert, who threw for 240 yards and five touchdowns on only 17 passes.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Galt to a paltry 103 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Bradshaw Christian's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out six times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Devyn Mcdonald and D.D. Tornatore who racked up five sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Rosemont didn't have too much trouble with El Dorado on the road on Friday as they won 30-13.
Michael Cherry had a dynamite game for Rosemont, rushing for 219 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Alex "Pit" Rodriguez, who gained 122 total yards and a touchdown.
Bradshaw Christian's win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.0 points per game. As for Rosemont, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Bradshaw Christian has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 296 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Rosemont struggles in that department as they've been averaging 264.7 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Bradshaw Christian took their win against Rosemont in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 55-33. Does Bradshaw Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rosemont turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
