The Hylton Bulldogs fell victim to the Freedom Eagles''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 73-0 defeat at the hands of the Eagles. While losing is never fun, Hylton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Freedom is ranked fourth).
Freedom was led to victory by Tristan Evans-Trujillo and Jeffrey Overton. Evans-Trujillo threw for 223 yards and five touchdowns while completing 81.3% of his passes, while Overton rushed for 139 yards and four touchdowns. Carleton juju Preston also helped out with an impressive 86 receiving yards.
This is the second loss in a row for Hylton and nudges their season record down to 3-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 3.5 points per game. As for Freedom, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
Hylton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Freedom also has no future games currently scheduled.
