Belton-Honea Path (Honea Path, S.C.) jumped out to an early lead against
Westside (Anderson, S.C.) and never looked back on the way to a 24-6 victory on Saturday.
The Bears put up seven points in the opening quarter. Belton-Honea Path scored on a touchdown run by
Kendall Joseph.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Joseph in the first quarter, BHP was up 17-6 at the half.
The Honea Path school expanded its lead to 18 points entering the fourth quarter. The Bears scored once in the quarter on a
Dylan Spence touchdown pass to
Ryan Greer.
Westside's lone touchdown came on a 10-yard run in the second quarter.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 22-3 win for Belton-Honea Path.
The loss was the third in a row for the Rams.
In a non-conference game next week Westside (0-3) takes on Seneca, and Belton-Honea Path (2-0) will go up against Pendleton also in a non-conference game.
