The Brawley Wildcats and the Bishop's Knights squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Brawley Wildcats had to settle for second. Brawley fell just short of Bishop's by a score of 23-21. Brawley has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Brawley's loss came despite strong showings from Matthew Gutierrez and Brandon Porras. Gutierrez threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes, while Porras picked up 139 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Brawley's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Bishop's, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.
Brawley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bishop's will head out on the road to face off against Rancho Bernardo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
