The East Surry Cardinals and the Community School of Davidson Spartans squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the East Surry Cardinals had to settle for second. East Surry fell 25-18 to Community School of Davidson. Despite 64 more yards than Community School of Davidson, East Surry couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
East Surry's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lindan Fleming, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephen Keener, who picked up 104 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The critical scores for Community School of Davidson came from Tanner Mullins, Oliver Morris, and Aedan Davies.
East Surry's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Community School of Davidson, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
East Surry does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Community School of Davidson will look to defend their home field on Friday against Forest Hills at 7:00 p.m. Forest Hills is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
