Even though the Hephzibah Rebels scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, the Cross Creek Razorbacks still came out on top. Cross Creek took their matchup against Hephzibah 71-59. Given Cross Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Hephzibah is ranked 310th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Hephzibah still got an impressive performance from Traeon Brown, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Brown hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Ashton Brown, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Cross Creek is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Hephzibah, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11.
Cross Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hephzibah, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-56 loss vs. Harlem on the 8th.
