TEACH were the 55-50 winner over the Summit Christian Academy Eagles when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. TEACH fell 60-52 to Summit Christian Academy on Monday. TEACH found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post eight fewer assists than your opponent.
TEACH's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nikolas Neuhofer , who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The match was Neuhofer 's third in a row with at least ten points. Trey Mozingo was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Ezra Crowder was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with seven assists and six rebounds for Summit Christian Academy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Crowder has scored at least 25% of Summit Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Miller, who scored ten points along with four steals.
TEACH's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Summit Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. TEACH will take on Greenbrier Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Greenbrier Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday. Summit Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cristo Rey at 8:00 p.m. on December 5th. Cristo Rey presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Summit Christian Academy in Virginia (Cristo Rey is ranked 157th, while Summit Christian Academy is ranked 344th).
