Basketball Recap: Lanett Skates Past Glenwood with Ease

Lanett won the last time they faced Glenwood and things went their way on Friday too. The Lanett Panthers took their game with ease, bagging a 52-21 victory over the Glenwood Gators. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Lanett to victory were MaKiah White and Nakerionna Heard. White dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards, while Heard went 6 of 11 on her way to 16 points along with seven boards and four steals. Heard is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Armani Langdon, who posted ten points.

Lanett smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Lanett is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Glenwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lanett and Opelika will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Glenwood, they will venture away from home to face off against Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
