Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask South View). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Douglas Byrd Eagles 54-8. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive  victory against them.
 Cristian Simmons produced another solid  effort rushing for 118 yards and three  TDs on only 13 carries, while also picking up 54 receiving yards. South View is undefeated when  Simmons posts two or  more  rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise.  Jamal Brown was in the mix  as well, providing the Tigers with two touchdowns.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: South View was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 220  rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Douglas Byrd only  rushed for 114.
 Another reason for the win was South View's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was  Armani Jones with  two. He has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  sack the last four times he's  played. South View received some extra help from  Brendan Jones, whose fumble return for a touchdown  made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
 Despite the  defeat, Douglas Byrd saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Curtis Sutton rushed for 74 yards and one  score, and also threw for 97 yards and one  TD while completing 77.8% of his passes.
South View's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Douglas Byrd, their loss was  their fifth straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 0-8.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South View will host St. Pauls  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 14.5  points per game  this season, so the Tigers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Douglas Byrd, they will look to defend their home field  on Friday against E.E. Smith  at 7:00  p.m.
