The Lake Mary Prep Griffins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell to Orangewood Christian 58-54. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lake Mary Prep of the 61-57 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Lake Mary Prep had strong showings from Cael Ogden, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds, and Carson Cruse, who scored 14 points along with nine steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Caporaso, who scored four points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Lake Mary Prep's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Orangewood Christian, their victory ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Mary Prep will take on Altamonte Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orangewood Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Trinity Prep at 7:00 p.m.
